1 General Information

Investigazioni Italia S.r.l., with its registered office at Corso Unione Sovietica, 612/3/D – 10135 Turin (TO), Italy, as the Data Controller, can be contacted at the email address privacy@investigazioni-italia.com or dpo@investigazioni-italia.com (contact for the Data Protection Officer), and provides the following information about the use of cookies on its website.

What are cookies and why do we use them?

A cookie is a simple text file stored on the user's computer or mobile device by a website's server, containing information that allows, for example, the device to be recognized and enables the user to navigate between pages, remembering preferences and improving the browsing experience.

The Electronic Communications Directive and the Privacy Authority's Provision of May 8, 2014, No. 229, concerning "Identification of Simplified Methods for Information and Consent Acquisition for the Use of Cookies," and more recently, the "EDPB Guidelines 5/2020" and the "Cookie and Other Tracking Technologies Guidelines – June 10, 2021" issued by the Privacy Authority, state that the use of non-technical cookies may only be allowed with the user's consent. For more information on cookies, the user can consult the information page provided by the Privacy Authority.

Controlling and Setting Cookies from Your Browser The User of the Site can control their cookie choices through their browser settings, where they can decide to condition the installation of any type of cookie on their prior consent or completely prevent their installation. It is important to note that the configuration of each browser is different and is described in the browser's "Help" menu. To understand how to adjust cookie settings, the User is invited to visit the following web pages: – Google Chrome; – Internet Explorer; – Mozilla Firefox; – Safari; – Android; – iOS. Web Beacons Web beacons are tiny, invisible images that the Data Controller uses in their email communications. These images allow for the collection of statistical information related to the use of newsletters, helping the Data Controller improve this service. If you wish to prevent the collection of this statistical information, you must set the HTML deactivation in your email system, so that the Data Controller's newsletter is read only as plain text.

Finally, the Data Controller, in some email communications, uses a system known as "click-through URL." When you click on one of these URLs, you are first redirected through an intermediary website before reaching the destination website. The Data Controller uses this system to determine the level of interest in specific topics and to measure the effectiveness of the communications.

2. Types of Cookies Used.

Below are all the active cookies, or those that can be activated with the user's consent, on our site, along with instructions for customizing your browsing preferences once expressed. If the cookie is provided by third parties, a link is provided through which the User can check the necessary privacy information and the related usage policies directly on the provider's website.

The Site activates the use of marketing cookies only if the User clicks the "Accept All" button in the banner that appears upon the first visit to the Site. If the User does not provide consent, the Site will only keep active cookies that are necessary or comparable to them, in compliance with legal requirements. The User can view their expressed preferences through the "View Preferences" option provided in the banner and may choose not to consent to cookies other than those technically necessary by continuing to browse and keeping the default settings. This choice can be made by clicking the "Only Necessary" button in the banner or by closing the banner using the "x" located in the top right corner.

If the User wishes to configure or modify their cookie settings by category, they can click on "View Preferences" and decide whether to activate marketing cookies as well. To modify the consent previously given, please refer to the specific information provided in the following section, "Modify Preferences."

The Site uses different types of cookies for various purposes. Some cookies may be provided by external third parties to integrate additional functionalities of the Site, as outlined below. This cookie policy lists, by category, the cookies used and any third parties involved.

Specifically, the Site includes necessary technical cookies, analytics technical cookies, and profiling and targeted advertising cookies.

– NECESSARY TECHNICAL COOKIES: Navigation or Session Cookies: These are used to transmit communications over an electronic communications network and are strictly necessary to enable specific functionalities requested that ensure normal browsing and use of the website (for example, allowing authentication to access restricted areas). These cookies can be further distinguished based on their persistence on the user's device: those that are automatically deleted at the end of each session are called "session cookies," while those with a longer lifespan are called "permanent cookies."

d) Profiling and targeted advertising

These cookies are used, particularly after obtaining specific consent, to send advertisements relevant to a recognized device or another device (not a named or otherwise identifiable person), personalized based on the interests inferred from the browsing activity on the website linked to the device (e.g., clicked banner ads, visited subpages, searches performed). They may also remember if the site has been visited by a device and share this information with marketing companies that run promotional campaigns on behalf of the Data Controller. These cookies are also used to track the advertising sources from which a user was directed to our site, to determine whether it is worth investing in that specific advertising source.

As mentioned above, the Site uses profiling cookies to send relevant, personalized advertisements based on interests inferred from browsing activity (tool: Google Ads). The Data Controller uses this data to perform retargeting activities and show relevant advertisements personalized according to browsing interests (e.g., clicked banner ads, visited subpages, performed searches). All cookies belonging to this category are installed with the prior consent of the User, which can be revoked at any time. It is recommended to review the information regarding cookie management by Google via the link provided at the end of this section. The Site also includes cookie sharing pixels with social networks (especially LinkedIn), which allow Users to share their information with social networks and enable social network operators to identify users and store information related to the use of the Site in their profiles (please note that data processing by such entities occurs even when the user does not have a social media profile). The User is advised to review the information regarding cookie management by the social networks linked by the social buttons. Third-party providers are also required to comply with cookie regulations.

Among the cookies belonging to this category, there are those from LinkedIn, used to display recent social posts and/or sharing buttons, and those from Google Ads.
